Type size
Body copy is set at 19px and never smaller. Small type is confined to source lines, captions, and table cells, where it never carries the substance of a sentence you need. Every size on the site is set in relative units, so raising the text size in your browser or your phone settings makes this text bigger — it does not leave it stuck at the same size.
Contrast
Body text is dark ink on a warm ground at 11.5:1, well past the 7:1 that WCAG calls Level AAA. Source lines and captions run at 6.1:1, past the 4.5:1 that Level AA asks for. Our accent color measures 4.64:1 and carries links and focus rings. One color in the palette fails as text, and it is never used as text — only for borders and disabled controls.
Keyboard
Everything on this site works with a keyboard alone. Links, fields, and buttons take focus in the order they appear on screen, and focus is always visible as a 2px outline offset from the element. A skip link is the first focusable thing on every page. The navigation is ordinary HTML — there is no menu that needs JavaScript to open and nothing that can trap you.
Motion
There is no animation on this site. The only movement anywhere is a color change when you hover over a button, and if your device asks for reduced motion, even that is turned off. The windmill in our mark never rotates.
Forms
Every field has a visible label above it. We never use placeholder text as a label, because it disappears the moment you start typing and takes the question with it. Errors are described in words next to the field, not signalled by color alone.
Structure
Each page has one h1 and headings in order, so a screen reader can move through the page by structure. Images that carry meaning get real alternative text; decorative marks are hidden from assistive technology instead of being described. Wide tables scroll inside their own container — the page itself never scrolls sideways.
Where we fall short
This site has not yet been tested end to end by someone who uses a screen reader daily. We have tested it ourselves with VoiceOver and by keyboard, which is not the same thing, and that audit is on the list rather than done. When it happens, what it finds gets fixed and this page gets updated.
